Mother of murder suspect charged in shooting of Dothan man
The mother of a murder suspect has been arrested in the shooting of a man that occurred Sunday in Dothan. Police charged 38-year old Tiffany Rowell with Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Rowell's son, 23-year old Tayshawn Malik Stevenson, is still sought by investigators who believe he fired the two shots that killed 27-Akheem Benjamin Hall. That shooting occurred in the front yard of Hall's home on Naomi Drive.
“Our investigation revealed that Ms. Rowell and Hall became involved in a verbal and physical altercation earlier in the day Sunday and she threatened that her son would kill Mr. Hall,” said Dothan Police Lieutenant Lynn Watkins.
Court records show Stevenson has a pending domestic violence case in Houston County Circuit Court. That charge alleges he forced his girlfriend to put her face under scalding hot water in the bathtub of a local hotel room, causing severe injuries.
His mother, Ms. Rowell, has no criminal history in Houston County, per records.
