Moma Tina's seeks to put smiles on kids' faces this Christmas
It's the season of giving, and while you are out shopping for loved ones, don't forget those who are less fortunate.
Moma Tina's Mission House in Dothan is doing its part to put smiles on local kids' faces this Christmas.
Until December 14th, the Mission House will be hosting its annual Angel Tree Program.
To participate, all you have to do is stop by Moma Tina’s, pick a child's picture from the tree and buy a toy for them, which will be presented on Christmas Eve.
Organizers said it's important for every child to feel loved this holiday season.
"The parents are asking for help with their kids," said Co-Executive Director of The Ordinary People Society, Kenyetta Rich.
"The soup kitchen is for the homeless and the hungry, and it's a lot kids that are in HUD Housing that the parents aren't able to get them everything they ask for. So, it makes a big difference to show the kids that someone else and their family is willing to help supply you with the needs," Rich said.
Moma Tina's Mission House is also providing warm meals for the elderly and families in need on Thanksgiving Day.
The organization is hoping to feed 700 people.
Donations are still being accepted and volunteers are needed.
