Dothan, AL (WTVY) - December 1st was a record day for WTVY, The Cochran Firm and the Wiregrass Area Food Bank's Miracle on Foster Street Food drive.

After more than 12 and ½ hours …the food drive brought in over $14,000 and almost 6,000 pounds of food.
Combined that's a little more than 168,000 pounds of food.
That translates into 131, 352 meals.
That's the most we've ever done in WTVY's food drive history.
More than 200 area agencies will benefit from your generous donations.

Julie Gonzalez, Development Director for the Food Bank says:
"Hunger is an around the year problem, it's not just at the holidays…you know there's always something that could be going on that makes people need food assistance and this food will not only be used for those Christmas boxes but for everyday needs."

The meals will begin going out today.
Miracle on Foster Street has been going on for 5 years now, but the food bank has enjoyed a food drive partnership with WTVY for more than 20 years.
