(AL.com) — The lucky person who won last month’s $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot still has not come forward.
A ticket sold in Simpsonville, South Carolina matched all the numbers in the Oct. 23 drawing - white balls 5, 28, 62, 65 and 70, plus the gold Mega Ball 5.
At the time of the $1.5 billion drawing, officials advised the winner to sign the back of their ticket – something that’s required to show ownership - and then contact lottery officials.
That hasn’t happened yet.
The winner has 180 days – or until April 21st - to come forward to claim their prize. If that doesn’t happen, each participating state gets back all the money it contributed towards the jackpot. Unclaimed lottery prizes are used differently in each state, WLTX reported.
