Man prosecutors believe has murdered three times on trial
A man that has been charged with two murders and is expected to be charged with a third is on trial this week in Ozark.
Prosecutors say 43-year old Mitchell Byron Doster shot and killed a man during an argument over a drug deal. Police discovered Ricky Dease's body at his Ariton home in December 2017.
A Dale County jury will begin hearing testimony in that case Tuesday. No matter the outcome, Doster will also face another murder charge.
Investigators say, after posting bond following his arrest in Dease's death, Doster killed 22-year old Orchid Bolin in March 2019. Her body was found in Barbour County, a few miles north of Ariton.
These are not the only times Doster has been charged with murder. In 1999, he also faced that charge but, in an agreement with prosecutors, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and received a 16-year prison sentence. Records do not reflect how long he served.
Doster's girlfriend, 44-year old Celeste Conroy, is charged with being an accomplice to Dease's murder and is awaiting trial.
