DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- A Dothan man pleaded guilty Monday to murder in the shooting of another man. James Lee Yeaple, 27, was sentenced to 28 years in prison.

The body of 54-year old Devon Willet, in 2015, was found in an Ozark home where he was living in. Yeaple was arrested after multi-month investigation.

The two men had been involved in an ongoing feud, according to Ozark Police Chief Marlos Walker. Previous WTVY reports indicate Yeaple was the boyfriend of the victim’s niece.

Court records show Yeaple also pleaded guilty Monday to Promoting Prison Contraband involving an alleged self-made knife. He received a two year concurrent prison sentence on that charge.

In an unrelated case, Charles Lewis Cannon pleaded guilty to multiple counts of Possessing Pornographic Material involving minors and was given a three year prison term followed by three years’ probation.

Both cases were prosecuted by Dale County District Attorney Kirke Adams.
