Man charged with two Dothan robberies

Dothan, AL (WTVY)-- A man suspected of two armed robberies in Dothan has been captured by police in Texas.

Beaumont officers located 30-year old George Broussard. He's held on two arrest warrants obtained last week by Dothan police.

“Mr. Broussard is charged with the April 15 hold up of the Shell Station in the 3200 block of Montgomery Highway (near the Mall),” Police Lieutenant Lynn Watkins said.

“He approached the (store) counter with his hands in his pocket, gesturing that he had a weapon and demanded the money from the register. The employee complied and he escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash and several packs of cigarettes.”

Investigators also charged Broussard with robbing an elderly man in May at Downtown Trailer Park on Moates Street.

He will be returned to Dothan to face charges.
