Dothan, AL (WTVY)-- Dothan police have charged a man with leaving his eight month old grandson inside a hot car while he shopped.

Officers say 41-year old Jamicheal Demon Williams stayed in Sam's Club for about two hours while the child sweltered.
A shopper who parked next to the car noticed the child inside with the windows up, per police. Temperatures at the time were about 95 degrees.
“Officers got there and were able to get the child from the vehicle. The child was transported to the hospital and treated for dehydration but will be alright,” Lt. Lynn Watkins told WTVY.
Williams is charged with Torture/Willful Abuse of a Child.
Locally, there been several hot car incidents involving children in the past few months.
In one case, a two year old boy died. His parents face manslaughter charges.
