Reports: Linemen working in hurricane's aftermath killed in Florida Pahandle

At least two people working in the aftermath of Hurricane Michael were killed when they were struck by a hit-and-run driver in the Florida panhandle.

The Washington County Sheriff's office confirms two deaths while Chipley Observer newspaper, on its Facebook page, reported all three linemen were killed.

The driver, John Roland Goedtke, 37, of Tampa Florida, was apprehended and will face multiple charges.

The incident occurred on Florida Highway 77 near Wausau, about five miles south of Chipley. The road was closed and motorists were told to find alternate routes.

The linemen were working to restore power to Panhandle residents who lost electrical service when hurricane force winds ripped through the area October 10," WCSO said on its Facebook page.,
