Bonifay, FL (WTVY)-- Rumors are running rampant that no one is being allowed to travel between into our out of Florida. That's not true.

“We are aware of a rumor circulating which claims Florida has closed its borders. Be advised that this is false information, and there are no law enforcement agencies of any kind stopping motorists at the state line and refusing their passage,” said Holmes County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Carol Wyatt in a statement.

Florida's Agricultural Commissioner Nicole Fried has requested a statewide stay-at-home order be issued. Governor Ron DeSantis has not made a decision on that request.

As of now, there are no travel restrictions. Ms Wyatt said, if that changes, advisories would be issued during what she termed “these unprecedented times.”
