Two Dothan wrestling legends step into this ring tonight for the last time, as they make one mans dreams come true.
People are traveling as far as New York to watch these wrestling legends. And the main event is what has people on their toes, Wayne "The Wild Thang" Ward will get in the ring one last time.
But it's not just for the glory of the sport...
"It doesn't matter who you work for, what promotion, we're here to have fun. We're here to help people and that's what were doing with this how," Wiregrass Wrestling Alliance Owner, Bill Gamble said.
Ward was diagnosed with stage 3 Lymphoma 4 months ago.
The last time ward stepped into the ring, 20 years ago. And the only thing he can think about is getting in it one last time.
"I told him I wanted to get in the ring one more time and the rest of it he did, he started it. I just got on the phone and started calling and how can you say no to a good friend whose got cancer. Cancer is a ugly thing," Wrestlers, Larry Brock and Wayne Ward said.
But what makes the match even better, Ward will be facing his life-long friend, Larry Brock. The two have been friends for 30 years.
"Priceless. There is no way to answer that. We intend on having a good time, we intend on giving the people a good show and tomorrow morning, we'll get up and have a coffee somewhere," Brock and Ward said.
Gamble has prepped for the big event since May. But what Ward will find out is a portion of the ticket money will go in the donation box to be presented to him at the end of the night.
He hopes to make a positive impact not just on Ward but the whole Wiregrass community.
"This is what we do, this is what I want to do. Is help somebody to give Dothan something to be proud of," Gamble said.
The event was on July 13th from 7pm and the main event at 9pm,"Once Upon A Wild Thang's Dream."
