(AL.com) — A GoFundMe page has been established to benefit the victims and families of the deadly shooting at a Las Vegas country music concert.
Steve Sisolak, chairman of the Clark County Commission, established the account to assist victims of the massacre. Gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire Sunday night on a crowd of more than 20,000 concert goers at the Route 91 Harvest country music festival, killing 58 and wounding more than 500. Paddock killed himself as police reached his 32-floor room in Mandalay Bay Casino and Hotel.
Funds from the crowd-sourcing donation efforts will be used to provide relief and financial support to the victims and families of the mass shooting, Sisolak said.
As of Monday afternoon, the efforts had raised more than $744,000 in the five hours since it started. The organizers said the goal is $1 million.
Officials in Las Vegas are also urging local residents to donate blood. Many of the lines for donations are stretching out the doors of collections sites, according to media in Las Vegas.
