Landmark Park's Planetarium lets visitors star gaze

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) Its summer and your kids are out of school, do you need something fun to do? Landmark Park offers planetarium shows 4 days a week for the whole family.

Landmark Park has the only planetarium within 100 miles of Dothan. With a 360 degree dome and state of the art projector, visitors can watch space movies, live astronomy shows, and see pictures from the Hubble telescope. The live shows vary from month to month because the night sky changes, affecting what’s visible to viewers. Tickets are $3 a person and free for park members.

“Coming to the planetarium is a great way to open your mind and learn a little bit more about space and our place in space,” said Laura Stakelum, Landmark Park P.R. Director.

Planetarium shows are Mondays and Fridays at 3:30 p.m., Saturdays at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. and Sunday’s at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Live shows are at 1 p.m. while the rest are full dome movies.
