DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) Bring your lawn chairs and friends for a concert under the stars. Thursday, June 15th, Landmark Park will be hosting its first “Music by Moonlight” concert of 2017.
Thursday evening is the first of three concerts this summer to be done at the park. The free event starts at 7:30 p.m. and will take place on the gazebo lawn. The Pontiac Stove company, a local band that plays Americana, (American folk) music will be performing. People are welcome to bring a picnic but alcohol and pets are not allowed. The Martin Drugstore and Shelley general store will also be opened for drinks, snacks, and ice cream.
“This is a great way to support local musicians in the area, maybe expos yourself to a new band or new style of music and just have a great time,” said Laura Stakelum, Landmark Park’s Public Relations Director.
Stakelum also recommends showing up around 7 p.m. for a good spot.
Other Music by Moonlight concert dates are June 29th and July 13th. June 29th the Tri State Community Orchestra will be performing. They play pop and patriotic tunes. On July 13th the Troy Dothan Community Band will be playing.
