DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- For the first time in several years, Landmark Park held its Aerospace Day for Wiregrass students.

Some local school children and those who are homeschooled were invited to learn about space and physics.

Students got to see a helicopter, do science experiments and hang out with meteorologist Zack Webster.

“This is a great event to introduce students to really a magical world of science and we do it in a really fun and engaging hands-on type of way and hopefully it will spark an interest in them for the sciences,” says Landmark Park executive director Laura Stakelum.

The director says they plan to host the event annually.
