There’s always something fun and educational going on at Landmark Park in Dothan.

On Wednesday, the park featured bees as part of its Wacky Wednesday summer series.

A group of children and their parents learned all about several different types of bees, and what role they play in our daily lives.

Participants also got a chance to ask questions, finishing off the day with a fun Honey Bee craft.

“This is a great way to introduce kids to the importance of our pollinators, and why they’re important to our food and our well-being,” said Interim Director for Landmark Park, Laura Stakelum.

“And it’s a good way to just get out of the house and continue learning, even though school is not in session right now,” Stakelum said.

Landmark Park will host a Honey Bee extraction on Saturday, June 22nd at 9:30 a.m.

The event is free with paid gate admission, $4 for adults, $3 for kids and free for members.
