DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- Landmark Park's newest event is bringing the Wiregrass back to its roots.

More than 20 guitar, banjo, mandolin and other instrumental musicians were in attendance playing bluegrass music.

Most of them were unfamiliar with each other but just wanted to share a common interest.

It’s all to rejuvenate a lost art.

"We're here to preserve history and this is a dying form of music especially in our area so if Landmark Park can bring that back it's a good thing for the Wiregrass," Landmark Park Event Coordinator David Joy.

Landmark Park plans to have "Pickin' N the Park" on the second Saturday of every month.
