OZARK Ala. (WTVY)- A Dale County RV park is helping kids battling cancer enjoy their summer.

Ozark KOA donated $35,000 to "Smile-A-Mile."

The Birmingham based summer camp is open just to kids with cancer and their families.

As a two time cancer survivor, KOA Manager Lori Hemmis says it's a cause that's near to her heart.

"I went to Smile-A-Mile to deliver a check there, and there's all the kids there swimming and having a great time and they're just forgetting about the chemotherapy or radiation for a while. It's just wonderful."

Hemmis says she wishes Smile-A-Mile had been around when she was a kid and plans on supporting the camp for years to come.
