MARIANNA, Fla. (WTVY) -- Have you ever considered running for an elected county or city position?
Well, one Wiregrass agency is offering help to get the process started.
The Jackson County Supervisor of Elections Office is conducting a candidate workshop for anyone interested in running for a county or municipal office.
Discussion topics include offices open for election, qualifications and political advertising.
“If you just want to, you can come and listen in and see what the candidates have to do. It's an important process of our democracy to have people interested in running for elected office,” says Jackson County’s supervisor of elections Sylvia Stephens.
The workshop is set for Thursday, January 9th starting at 10:00 am at the Jackson County Supervisor of Elections Office.
