DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The Saturday before the start of the holiday season is International Suicide Survivors Day.
People who have been affected by suicide loss gather all around the world to comfort one another and gain understanding as they share stories of healing and hope.
One Dothan mother, Patrice Bright, says group support helps cope with the loss during the holidays.
"It just helps us to kind of have that support, have that hope going into the holidays and kind of adjust our perspective as well and remember the good things about our loved one" Bright said.
If you or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide you should call the suicide prevention hotline at 1-800-273-talk.
