DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- Parts of the transformation of the old Howell School to a residential property will be finished by December 2019.
Developers expect work on the historic building to be completed by the end of December.
The new buildings in the project won't be completed until February.
In the meantime, infrastructure improvements will be made to connect the residential buildings to the core of downtown.
“It's a huge residential component. It essentially has the power to transform that whole area. We're really excited,” says Downtown Dothan Redevelopment Authority executive director Jamie Bienvenu.
The building won't have any occupants until after all construction work is complete.
