DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) — WTVY/WRGX's own meteorologist Lauren Linahan and Devon Sellers were judges for a costume contest this afternoon.

The participants--pets!

Houston Academy hosted their annual Raider Run Pet Costume Contest Friday afternoon during their pep rally.

There were over twenty entries, and not all were just dogs!

Participants paid a donation to enter both the run and the contest, and proceeds were donated to the Wiregrass Humane Society.
"They do the Raider Run each year through the school and decided to pick a charity to include as a part of the Raider Run and this is the third year they've included us and we're so thankful for them doing that." Said Tammy Curtiss, Board member for the Wiregrass Humane Society.

This year’s winner was a Pomeranian named “Big Al” whose costume was sushi!

The contest raised around $1,000 in cash and several bags of dog food.
