Holmes County deputies deliver Christmas cheer

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG) -- Holmes County Sheriff's deputies were out on the roads spreading Christmas cheer Wednesday.

Deputies passed out gift cards to unsuspecting locals.

There were 30 gift cards, each of them valued at $50.

Deputies delivered some gift cards to homes. They also pulled people over to surprise them.

They did something similar in November, passing out turkeys just before Thanksgiving.

"I just enjoy meeting the people," Deputy Greg Barton said. "I always enjoy meeting the people, though. Get out and give back to the community that gives back and supports us."

The money for the gift cards came from a concealed weapons class Sheriff John Tate hosts once a month, as well as a donation from the town of Ponce de Leon.
