(WTVY) — The Florida Dept. of Law Enforcement says Holmes County Clerk of the Court Kyle Hudson has been arrested.
The investigation began in January after an annual audit showed a significant increase in travel expenses by Hudson starting in late 2017.
Investigators say Hudson submitted travel vouchers for several conferences, Clerk of Court Operations Corporation meetings and canvassing board meetings. FDLE agents found that Hudson either did not attend the meetings or that the meetings never happened. They say Hudson created fraudulent hotel receipts and meeting agendas, submitting them for reimbursement. FDLE says, Hudson defrauded taxpayers of more than $6,000.
Hudson was charged with Organized Scheme to Defraud (1 count), Official Misconduct (7 counts), and Money Laundering (1 count).
