DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- Wiregrass high school students competed in a head to head in an academic competition.
Eleven schools were represented in Wallace Community College's Scholar Bowl Friday.
Students rushed to the buzzer to answer trivia questions in subjects ranging from math to fine arts.
Winners took more than just bragging rights back to school with them.
“They will be awarded trophies and the senior of this here event will be actually offered an academic scholarship on the spot,” says Wallace Community College’s recruiter Mary Wiggins.
Providence Christian School took home the 1st place trophy, Houston took Academy 2nd, and Dothan High placed third. Geneva County's Preston Langford won the academic scholarship.
