4WARN Weather: Heat dome to develop across the Southeast

By  |

(WTVY) — Ready or not, it's coming. A big heat dome will set up across the South next week, centered around South Georgia. The core of the heat will cover much of Georgia, into Alabama, Florida and South Carolina. I wouldn't be surprised to see widespread upper 90s before May is finished in the aforementioned areas, with pockets of 100°+ possible in Georgia. Such heat could come close to reaching existing record highs. With the heat will come dry weather, with minimal rain chances through the end of the month. -David Paul, Chief Meteorologist
