The Dale County Commission discussed the future of Dale County EMA Director Kurt McDaniel.

McDaniel was suspended from his role as EMA Director last week after controversial posts that he made on Facebook.

County attorney Henry Steagall mentioned warnings and reprimands McDaniel has had the last few years as EMA Director including his suspension from the E-911 board for unethical conduct.

Steagall and county administrator Cheryl Ganey recommended a notice of intent to terminate McDaniel from the commission and a date and time for a due process hearing.

"This public hearing unless waived by Mr. McDaniel will allow the commission to consider his job performance, to review publicly his personnel file and to give him an opportunity to present his defenses before the commission," said Steagall.

The hearing will be at 10 a.m. next Tuesday at the Dale County Government Building.
