Stolen guns on the streets, that after a burglary early this morning at Harden’s Gun Shop in Newton.

Gerald Harden owns the gun shop.

He says, "I walked around the corner and I said 'Oh My Gosh', I've never had anything like this to happen."

He says the alarm went off around 4 Tuesday morning, when he got to the store he saw the front door had been smashed in and guns and glass everywhere.

Surveillance video showed a truck smashing into the building and a man putting glock-9 handguns in a bag

Harden says, "There's a lot of guns on the floor that they didn't touch, so I feel like someone sent them to get certain guns, that they had already pre sold."

Dale county sheriff, Wally Olson says they can’t prove that but he says the town of Newton has had several break-ins recently and the truck used in the burglary, was stolen.

Olson says, "You want to try to keep everyone safe, and you want to help people because they don't need to live in fear."

Olson says they know the thief was a man but he had a hood on so they don’t have any more details.

Harden says, "It’s a sad sad thing that people have to do these things."

Harden says he hopes to reopen by the end of the week.
