Graceville woman killed in traffic crash; officers still trying to determine who was driving

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -- A Graceville woman is dead after a traffic crash in Jackson County early Friday morning.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. near the intersection of Smokey Road and Cloverdale Road.

Florida Highway Patrol officers said 72-year-old Mary Wilson was killed after the vehicle she was in over corrected after traveling onto the west shoulder while heading north on Smokey Road.

FHP officials said the 2002 Honda CRV then traveled onto the east shoulder where the vehicle then overturned and collided with several trees.

It is not known at this time who was driving the vehicle, but officials said there was another person in the Honda at the time of the crash.

FHP officers said 50-year-old Willie Wilson, also of Graceville, was seriously injured. He was taken to South East Medical Center in Dothan, Alabama.

The investigation is on going.
