Geneva County Schools set graduation dates

GENEVA COUNTY, Ala. (WTVY) -- Geneva County Schools have developed a way for the class of 2020 to say goodbye.

All 3 schools will have graduation ceremonies on their high school football fields while maintaining social distancing.

The schools are working on how many guests will be allowed but in the meantime a stage will be set up in the end zone and graduates and parents will be seated on the football field.

All other family members and guests will be seated in the bleachers.

Each school will have alternative dates in case of bad weather.

Slocomb High School will graduate at Newton Tew Field on May 29th at 7:30pm. Alternate dates will be May 30th and May 31st.

Geneva County High School will graduate on JD Chesteen Field at Dixie Howell Stadium on June 1st at 7:30pm. Alternate dates will be June 2nd and June 3rd.

Samson High School will graduate at the Alva Hawke Stadium on June 4th at 7:30pm. Alternate dates will be June 5th and June 6th.
