Fourth Annual Downtown Countdown reigns in the New Year in Dothan

The Fourth Annual Downtown Countdown reigned in the New Year in Dothan.

It all started around 7:00 p.m., and featured a kid’s zone and balloon drop.

The main event of course - the peanut drop at midnight.

“It's a giant peanut,” said Ashley Andrews, who went to The Downtown Countdown for the first time. “We're not used to it. I'm used to seeing the big ball drop on TV. I'm not used to seeing a peanut drop."

The peanut drop was accompanied by a fireworks show.
