DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - Two dozen nurses from Dothan are headed to help exhausted hospital employees in Florida.

The first 6 flowers hospital employees flew out Wednesday afternoon. 26 total are volunteering in Naples, Florida. This isn't the first time Anna Carmichael has helped during a natural disaster. She was a nurse in Enterprise when the tornado hit a decade ago.

"A twelve hour shift in the ER is long and exhausting- 16 hours is beyond. 18 hours, you can't even imagine how exhausted you are,” said Carmichael. “Our job is mentally, physically and emotionally draining at times."

The rest of the Flowers volunteers will fly to Florida tomorrow.
