MARIANNA FL.(WTVY)- Florida Governor Ron Desantis made a special appearance in Marianna, letting citizens know he hasn't forgotten about them as they recover from Hurricane Michael.

Jackson County is asking the legislative allocation for funds as they try to get things back to normal.

The paperwork deadline was originally set for 5 days but today the governor announced President Trump offered an extension for them to have 45 days.

County administrator Will Anne Daniels said, “It’ll go from a 5 day 100 percent reimbursement to 45 days so that means for all the affected areas that 45 days will be at a 100 reimbursement under certain categories of the disaster.”

The county hopes to have a detailed budget ready to submit within a few weeks.
