Fire preparedness campaign giving free smoke detectors in Ozark

OZARK, Ala. (WTVY) - The American Red Cross is holding "Sound the Alarm" a home fire preparedness campaign.

They have partnered with the Ozark Fire Department to offer free smoke alarms in hopes of reducing the number of home deaths and injuries by 25 percent in the next 5 years.

The smoke alarms are free of charge.

Nearly 100 alarms were installed within the first month of the program.
