DOTHAN, Ala.(WTVY) -- Enterprise City Schools is currently upgrading a few things in the district and launching a new app is one of many changes.
Enterprise City Schools Technology Specialist Stacy Rodgers said, "Its part of an overhaul with our communications piece we had a website redesign we went with a new company for our mass calling system and the app was just the third leg for our communications piece."
So how does the app work?
"You'll search Enterprise City Schools in the app store. Once you have it downloaded the app, click open the app and allow it to send push notifications and then you choose from the list which schools you'll like to follow whether you have a high school, elementary school student or middle school student. And that's it. "
This app is a one-stop shop for not just the parents, but everybody.
Enterprise High school Teacher Suzanne Taylor said, "It takes me about 30 minutes to find all the features on the internet like how to find a sub and this is just all in one place it just makes it very convenient for teachers to use. "
Students even have their own reasons on how the app comes in handy.
Enterprise High student Nathan De-Jesus said, “As a student there's not much time to catch up on the game or go to the events so to be able to go to the athletics part to be able to see what happened the other night rather than to catch the match but to see it at home it's a big advantage."
And one special perk that might interest some, is being able to access the lunch menu the day of.
EHS student Jeremiah Grimes said, “I’m an athlete at Enterprise High School. I’m on the soccer team, and I do want to know what I’m having for lunch because it is good to have a set of nutrients that you need to know what you're eating.
So far three-hundred people have downloaded the app and it's only been out for a week.
