DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- The 8th annual "Empty Bowls Dothan" is feeding hundreds of families across the Wiregrass.

Bowls from the Empty Bowls Dothan event

The Wiregrass Area Food Bank and Cultural Arts Center partner up for the event every year.

Bowls are bought and filled with soup to raise money for the food bank and vendors’ booth fees go back to the arts center's Messy Space Arts Studio.

445 bowls were created by the community and every bowl sold will feed a family of four for a week.

Members of the Cultural Arts Center pottery class made the bowls.

"Through the art show, supports all the programs here at the Cultural Arts Center,” Wiregrass Area Food Bank Assistant Director Julie Gonzalez said. “It brings new people into the Cultural Arts Center so they're exposed to all the wonderful things provided here."
