Sentencing date set for Morris in July 2016 stabbing

A sentencing date has been set for a confessed killer in Coffee County.
Tracy Morris of Elba was charged with murder in the July, 2016 stabbing death of Larry James Miller.
Morris entered a guilty plea Thursday, August 31st.
He's scheduled to be sentenced October 18th.
Morris faces up to life behind bars.

On Sunday July 24, 2016 at approximately 11:00pm the Elba Police Department received a report of a person being assaulted on Jones Street.

Upon officers arrival it was determined that Larry James Miller age 55 of Elba had received multiple stab wounds to the upper torso and extremities.

Miller was transported by Coffee County EMS to Enterprise Medical Center where he died of his apparent injuries.

Subsequent investigation of the incident led to the arrest of Tracy Morris, age 44, also of Elba. Morris is currently being held in the Coffee County jail charged with Murder.
