(NBC News Channel) - Americans are expected to spend more than ever on Easter this year.
According to the National Retail Federation's annual survey, Easter spending is expected to reach $18.4 billion.
That six percent over last year's record and an all-time high in the survey's 14-year history.
Those celebrating will spend an average of $152 each.
Half plan to buy clothing. That's the highest level in a decade.
61 percent will visit family and friends, 57 percent will cook a holiday meal and 35 percent will have an easter egg hunt.
