DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - A Dothan church is going the extra mile to make sure students at one school are given equal opportunity.

Parks Chapel AME Church presented Grandview Elementary School with a $1,200 check. The money will go toward Chrome books for the entire fourth grade class, that's about sixty books.

In addition to that, the church gives more than 20 gift cards each month to children in the school who excel.

"We’re just thankful to be able to reach back out and do something that will be helpful to our children as well as the school,” said Pastor Willie Eugene Marshall.

The school expects the Chrome books by the end of the week.
