BONIFAY, Fla. (WTVY) -- A Holmes county woman is forced to find another place to live after an EF- tornado touched down early Sunday morning.

Clean-up began early Monday.
Many areas were severely damaged.
The path of destruction demolished this home off Parker Road.

Hallie Coombs, homeowner's neice says:
"This is my grandmother's home, now my aunt's home... so it's been in the family for a long time."

Mel Miller, neighbor says:
"The path of the tornado seemed like it came from just about west through here and across the gentleman's home down here and right through Mrs. Hammock's house here and behind the cemetery and out to the highway over here."

An elderly woman home alone at the time...
Coombs says:
"I think she was in the restroom, I think that she got a warning somehow on the phone and I think that she grabbed her housecoat she said and she went into the bathroom and hid..."

Miller says:
"She was really shaken up. I don't think she really knows the extent of the damage to her house..."

A local pastor from down the road rescued the elderly woman that same morning.
She is now living up the road while friends, family, and others pick up the pieces.
"She knows the only reason she's here is God because there is no way she would have survived."

Coombs finishes with:
"She's not going to want to leave this house though, she loves this area and she loves her home and she's not wanting to leave."

The lady's home was a total loss.
She was not injured but her small black dog is missing.
