Dry Weather Pattern Looks To Hold Through May

Yikes! If you're looking for rainfall for the remainder of May, look elsewhere. The entire Southeast looks mainly dry for the next 10 days, while daily high temperatures continue to climb. An area of high pressure building aloft will keep our skies mainly sunny to partly cloudy, with any organized rainfall unlikely from Nashville to Orlando, Raleigh to New Orleans. We typically see more afternoon showers and thunderstorms in June, so we'll hope for that to break our worsening drought. -David Paul, Chief Meteorologist
