DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- A three to four week drought in May delayed planting across Geneva County.
Planting of most crops didn't start until June.
However as we near harvesting season, drought conditions are beginning to improve.
Several recent rounds of afternoon showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall have brought Geneva County out of a severe drought.
While conditions have improved some, that doesn't mean the drought is over. The Wiregrass is still under a considerable drought, but conditions have at least improved slightly over the past week and a half.
More drought relief could still be on the way. Rain chances should once again increase into the weekend.
