DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -- The Dothan Downtown Redevelopment Authority is excited about finishing projects that make the city more beautiful.
After nearly two years the Wayfinding Project is complete, and getting these signs had to go through the Alabama Department of Transportation.
That's because Highway 84 - Main Street - is maintained by the state.
Executive Director Jamie Bienvenu tells us the dumpster co-op is also making downtown look nicer.
“Rather than six dumpster trucks coming six times a week to pick up these dumpsters, we just have one dumpster sitting there. Everybody’s paying into it and then they’re dumped two to four times a week,” Bienvenu says.
DDRA also discussed the Howell School Project, and says the main building will be done by the end of the year.
