Dothan's Daughters of the American Revolution ring bell for Constitution Day
Dothan's Daughters of the American Revolution chapter celebrated Constitution Day on Tuesday.
Every year, they pick a place with a bell in Dothan to read a portion of the constitution while dressed in Revolutionary War attire.
This year was at Landmark Park's Headland Presbyterian Church.
"The bell is kind of like the liberty bell for Independence Day,” said D.A.R Vice Regent Jessica Gautney. “We go to the bell just as a memory."
The Daughters of the American Revolution started the observance of Constitution Week in 1955.
