DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - The Dothan-Houston County substance abuse partnership held "Kick Butts Day" Wednesday.
The day is another part of their week-long anti-smoking campaign.
The Substance Abuse Youth Council chalked the sidewalks of the partnership's office with anti-tobacco messages, smoking statistics, and they also partnered with Durden Outdoor to display anti-tobacco messages on electric signs in Dothan throughout the week.
The Kick Butts campaign isn't stopping this week.
Dothan High School plans to continue the anti-smoking efforts throughout the rest of the year.
Summer Kriser of the Youth Council:
"I do know somebody that does currently smoke.. and I know that it has effected them tremendously.. and I have seen the effects and causes of what it can do to a family and how it can tear a family apart."
