DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) - A Dothan teacher is running in a state wide marathon to raise money for a good cause. Emily Dean is a library media specialist at Highlands Elementary School and she's no stranger to relays!

Last year she ran the Rock and Roll half marathon and raised $500 for Saint Jude's Hospital. This year, she is taking part in the "Memphis to Mobile Run,” it’s a 399 mile relay run. The money goes toward children's research, care and treatment.

Her goal this time is to raise $1,500.

“I'm really excited about it… and nervous,” said Dean. “I've heard it is life changing, so I’m ready!”
