The crime happened overnight. ... ... ...

A cup of coffee on the back porch is normal for Tammy Phillip.

What she is not used to is finding police officers with flashlights behind her yard.

“Next thing I know they're coming over the fence into my yard with police dogs sniffing with the dog and they ran across the yard through my fence through the neighborhood,” says Tammy Phillips a neighborhood resident.

Those search dogs chased a scent trail but lost it on Chambers Drive.

It didn't take long for Philips to learn that the business behind her, Outpost Gun and Ammo, had been hit.

“A suspect made an entrance through the exterior of the building,” says Dothan Police Department investigator Taiwan Truitt.

What happened next is still a mystery.

“They came back through, and I think, they thought the robbers had gone through my backyard but I don't think they did,” says Phillips.

What investigators do know is...

“While inside a few firearms were taken from the business -- approximately seven known and possibly another weapon is missing,” says Truitt.

The incident leaves neighbors shocked.

“This is the first thing anything that's really ever happened like this and it was scary. It was scary knowing that it happened behind my home,” says Phillips.

Authorities are hoping surveillance video from nearby businesses can help identify the suspect and any vehicles involved.

If you have information about the burglary you're asked to contact the Dothan Police Department.
