You'll need a library card to check out books at the main Dothan Houston County library branches, but you don't need one to complete the census there.

Thanks to a $2,000 grant, the Main Branch will have three computers designated solely for people to complete the census survey.

Non-library members can visit any location including the Bookmobile to use computers at those locations as well.

The library's staff has been trained to help with the process if needed.

“The library is dedicated to making sure that everyone in Dothan and Houston County is accurately counted. It is important because the census takes that information and statistics and determines funding for programs so that's why it's important that everyone completes the census because it matters,” says the library’s Deputy Director Terah Harris.

All survey responses are completely confidential.

Invitations to complete the census will be sent out starting March 12.
