Dothan appoints first Assistant City Manager
After an extensive nationwide search, Dothan has a new Assistant City Manager.
City leaders appointed Randy Morris to the position during Tuesday morning’s commission meeting.
Morris grew up in Ozark, and brings nearly 22 years of experience to the job.
He’s held multiple positions within the city of Dothan, including engineering, Public Works, Dothan Utilities and general services.
City Manager, Kevin Cowper, said Morris is more than qualified for the job, touting Morris’ knowledge of the city, his demeanor and ability to work across departments.
Morris said he’s excited to get to work.
“My vision is for Dothan to continue to grow and continue to offer the necessary things for our citizens that make life more enjoyable for them living in the city of Dothan,” Morris said.
Morris will make an annual salary of $154,000.
His first day on the job was effective immediately.
