DOTHAN, AL. (WTVY) - Dothan Utility lineman were publicly recognized Tuesday morning at the Dothan City Commission meeting.

Three second graders from Montana Magnet School wanted to honor all the hard work and long hours of the utility workers after Hurricane Michael.
The class has an educational program called Liberty Legacy which highlights the charitable work of others.

"Part of the assignment was, as a class, decide who in our community helps us be successful in the city of Dothan," said Montana Magnet School Principal Sue Clark. "They nominated several people. Allie nominated our linemen."

The linemen worked around the clock after the hurricane to help restore power to the city of Dothan.
